Hello, my name is John Ligis and I was born
in Krestena, Greece. I started my business in Greece when
I was 17 years old. I worked hard and put forth my best efforts
to find quality products to satisfy my customers' needs. I
put my blood, sweat, and tears into building the business
and soon became one of the top merchants in my town.
When I visited America in June of 1974, I encountered
a great demand for my products. Soon thereafter I opened John's
Import Foods in the great city of Chicago in order to satisfy
that demand. I worked hard and in time my business flourished.
The three cornerstones of our past, present, and hopefully
future successes have been forming strategic business alliances,
expanding our customer base, and maintaining quality advertising.
We provide the finest foods from Greece, Italy,
Poland and the Middle East and have been a member of the N.A.S.F.T
(National Association of Specialties Food Trade) for 10 years.
We have an eclectic selection of food items from some of the
most palate-pleasing regions of our world. Our emphasis on
quality and customer satisfaction has made us one of the leading
suppliers and wholesalers in the USA.
I have traveled all over the world in order
to find innovative as well as healthy food products. Food
is a treasure for me and as such I cherish the value of good
